Mazda Titan third generation

Trucks and Commercial Road Vehicles

The third-generation Mazda Titan was announced in 1989 with all-new bodywork that was still rather similar looking, the biggest difference being a pronounced dip at the leading edge of the side windows for better driver visibility. Its Titan logos were changed to all capitals and it gained mudguards with prominent Titan script. A minor facelift in 1992 softened the design, and in 1995 stricter 1994 emissions standards forced Mazda to replace its higher output engines with Isuzu's 4HF1 and 4HG1. Further facelifts followed in October 1997 and May 1999. In export markets the truck was sold as the Mazda T series and the Ford Trader, with a choice of ute bed, tray top or a box with a hydraulic lifting tray, and four or six-cylinder diesel or petrol engines.
