The Daihatsu Delta, also known as the Daihatsu Delta Truck, is an automotive nameplate used on a variety of Japanese Daihatsu trucks and vans between 1970 and 2010. They have usually been based on Toyota models, or on models of Toyota-owned Hino Motors, and the trucks used a cab-over-engine layout. The Delta was meant to replace the old Daihatsu V series cab-over medium trucks, and between October 1970 and 2003, or 2010 outside Japan, Daihatsu sold the Delta and the Delta 1500 and 2000, which was a rebadged Toyota Dyna. Five generations were built, with new models released in 1977, 1984, 1995 and 1999. The third generation ended production for the Japanese market in 1995 but continued until 2006 in many markets, including South America, Australia and New Zealand.
