BMW i8

Automobiles

The i8 was BMW's plug in hybrid sports car, the second model of the BMW i sub-brand after the i3. It paired a turbocharged three cylinder petrol engine at the rear with an electric motor at the front, had a carbon fibre passenger cell and scissor doors, and was unveiled in production form at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. The coupe was built from 2014 and a roadster joined it in 2018, and production ended in June 2020 after more than 20,000 cars. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in one generation: the single generation (2014 to 2020).
