Honda built the S2000 from 1999 to 2009, an open-top sports car with its engine mounted behind the front axle and drive sent to the rear wheels. It was first shown as the Sport Study Model concept at the 1995 Tokyo Motor Show, launched on 15 April 1999 to celebrate Honda's 50th anniversary, and named for its two liter engine, with the S standing for sports in the tradition of the S500, S600 and S800 roadsters of the 1960s. It was known for the highest specific output of any mass production, naturally aspirated car until 2010. This site lists a page for every model year in the span covered here, each focused on what changed in that year, grouped into 2 generations: the AP1 (2000 to 2003 model years); the AP2 (2004 to 2009 model years). Each year page links to its generation, to this model page, to the previous model year and to Honda.
