Honda released the S500 in 1963 as its first passenger automobile and its second production car, coming four months after the T360 truck. It was a larger displacement variant of the S360 roadster which, though developed for sale in 1962, was never produced. Like the S360 it used a high tech engine developed from Honda's motorcycle expertise, a dual overhead cam straight four with four Keihin carburetors and a 9500 rpm redline, displacing 531 cc and producing 44 hp. This site lists a page for every model year in the span covered here, each focused on what changed in that year, grouped into one generation: the single generation (1963 and 1964 model years). Each year page links to its generation, to this model page, to the previous model year and to Honda.
