Riley Kestrel and 1300

Automobiles

The Riley Kestrel is the Riley badged version of the BMC ADO16, introduced in September 1965 as a four door saloon mechanically similar to the MG 1100, with three round dials including a rev counter in a wooden fascia and leather seats as standard. It took the 1275 cc engine in May 1967, abandoned the Kestrel name for the Mark II in October 1968, and the Riley 1300 Mark II was discontinued in July 1969, signalling the demise of the Riley marque. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in 2 generations: the Kestrel (1965 to 1968); the 1300 (1968 to 1969).
