Honda derived the Vigor, a premium sedan, from the Accord. Honda sold it in Japan from 1981 until 1995 through the Honda Verno dealer network, and in North America from June 1991 (model year 1992) until 1994 as the Acura Vigor. Early Vigors were more upmarket versions of the Accord, and served as Honda's flagship until the arrival of the Honda Legend. In 1989, the Vigor differentiated itself further from the Accord with unique styling and an available longitudinal five-cylinder engine. This site lists a page for every model year in the span covered here, each focused on what changed in that year, grouped into 3 generations: the first generation (1981 to 1984 model years); the second generation (1985 to 1988 model years); the third generation (1989 to 1995 model years). Each year page links to its generation, to this model page, to the previous model year and to Honda. The Acura-branded Vigor sold in North America from 1991 to 1994 is a separate make and is only mentioned, not minted, here.
