Honda Ballade

Automobiles

Honda of Japan builds the Ballade, a subcompact automobile. It began in 1980 as a version of the Civic with four doors and more equipment. The Ballade was developed at the same time the Honda Vigor appeared, which was a higher content Honda Accord. In Japan, the Ballade was sold exclusively at Honda Verno dealerships alongside the Vigor, Prelude, CR-X and Quint. In Europe, the first generation Ballade was manufactured under license by British Leyland and sold as the Triumph Acclaim. This site lists a page for every model year in the span covered here, each focused on what changed in that year, grouped into 2 generations: the first generation (1980 to 1984 model years); the second generation (1985 to 1987 model years). Each year page links to its generation, to this model page, to the previous model year and to Honda. The South African use of the Ballade name for locally assembled Civics until 2001 and for the City from 2011 to 2025 is not minted here, because those cars belong to the Civic and City pages.
