Honda built the Inspire, a mid size sedan, from the chassis of the Accord. Honda debuted the first Inspire in late 1989 under the name Accord Inspire, a sister nameplate of the Vigor, and sold it at Honda Clio stores in Japan. After six generations and 23 years the Inspire ended production in September 2012 for a six-year period, and it was then relaunched in 2018 as a China-only model based on the tenth-generation Accord. The seventh-generation Inspire, based on the eleventh-generation Accord, went on sale in late May 2023. The Acura-badged export versions are a separate make and are only mentioned here. This site lists a page for every model year in the span covered here, each focused on what changed in that year, grouped into 7 generations: the first generation (1989 to 1994 model years); the second generation (1995 to 1997 model years); the third generation (1998 to 2002 model years); the fourth generation (2003 to 2006 model years); the fifth generation (2007 to 2012 model years); the sixth generation (2018 to 2022 model years); the seventh generation (2023 to 2026 model years). Each year page links to its generation, to this model page, to the previous model year and to Honda. There is no Inspire between 2013 and 2017, because the article says production ended for a six-year period in September 2012.
