The Phantom III closed the line of big pre-war Rolls-Royce cars, introduced in 1936 to replace the Phantom II and the only V12 Rolls-Royce until the Silver Seraph of 1998. Its 7.32 liter aluminium alloy V12 followed a study of a 1934 Cadillac V-16, with independent front suspension and twin ignition. 727 chassis were built from 1936 to 1939, and it was the last car that Henry Royce worked on. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in one generation: the single generation (1936 to 1939).
