Honda has built and sold the HR-V across three generations as a subcompact crossover SUV in the B segment. The first generation, based on the Honda Logo, was sold from 1999 to 2006 in Europe, Japan and select Asia Pacific markets. After a seven year hiatus the nameplate returned on the second generation, based on the third generation Fit, sold in Japan from 2013 as the Honda Vezel and from 2015 as the HR-V in North America and elsewhere. For the third generation the name is split between a global model, sold as the Vezel in Japan, and a larger Civic based model for North America and China sold elsewhere as the ZR-V. Honda says HR-V stands for Hi-rider Revolutionary Vehicle. This site lists a page for every model year in the span covered here, each focused on what changed in that year, grouped into 3 generations: the first generation (1999 to 2006 model years); the second generation (2013 to 2020 model years); the third generation (2021 to 2026 model years). Each year page links to its generation, to this model page, to the previous model year and to Honda.
