The 2023 Honda Pilot was the first model year of the fourth generation, which made its debut on November 7, 2022 and went on sale on December 12, 2022. A DOHC non VTEC 3.5 liter J35Y8 V6 with 285 horsepower replaced the previous J35Y6, paired with a Honda ten speed automatic gearbox that replaced the ZF 9HP, and it was bigger than before. Six trim levels were available when it launched, namely the Elite, Touring, TrailSport, EX-L, Sport and LX, and the IIHS gave the 2023 Pilot its Top Safety Pick Plus award.
