Railway Inventors and Industrialists

Inventors, manufacturers and industrialists who built railway technology and railway companies, from the first steam locomotive to sleeping cars and mountain railways. An entry belongs here when the cited article calls the person an inventor, manufacturer, merchant or industrialist who worked in railways. It excludes civil engineers and locomotive designers. Entries are placed by what their own cited article says, so each one sits in the narrowest group its source supports, and the group page lists it beside the other members.
