An American manufacturer and operator of railroad sleeping, dining and parlor cars, founded by George Pullman, which leased its Pullman branded cars to railroads across North America and staffed them with porters. Its company town near Chicago and the 1894 wage cut there triggered the Pullman Strike, one of the most significant labor disputes in United States history.
