Luxury and Specialty Service Operators

Operators built around a distinctive premium or specialty service rather than ordinary scheduled carriage: named luxury trains and the sleeping-car and dining-car companies that ran them. Belongs here: the Orient Express, the Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-Lits and the Pullman Palace Car Company. Does not belong here: ordinary national or regional carriers, grouped under railway and rail transit operators, airlines and air transport operators, or shipping lines and maritime carriers, even where they also offered premium classes of service.
