Bertone

Vehicle and Equipment Manufacturers

Bertone, formally Gruppo Bertone and founded as Carrozzeria Bertone in 1912 by Giovanni Bertone, was an Italian industrial design company based in Grugliasco, in northern Italy, that specialised in car styling, coachbuilding and manufacturing. After the Second World War Nuccio Bertone divided it into Carrozzeria for manufacturing and Stile Bertone for styling. The firm styled and in many cases built cars for Fiat, Lancia, Alfa Romeo, Lamborghini, Maserati, Volvo and others, and from the early 1980s sold the Fiat X1/9 and Fiat Ritmo Cabrio directly under its own name. It sold its plant and manufacturing activities to Fiat in 2009 and was declared bankrupt in 2014. The brand was later bought by AKKA Technologies, then by other owners, and was revived in 2022 with limited edition cars such as the GB110. As a make, Bertone here covers vehicles that carried the Bertone name.
