Baojun is a Chinese automobile marque owned by SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile, the joint venture of General Motors and SAIC Motor. Announced in November 2010, the brand was created as a more affordable alternative to Chevrolet and Buick in China while sitting above the Wuling brand. The first model was the 630 compact sedan, priced at about 7,000 dollars, with significant input from General Motors designers, and sales began in late 2011 through a dedicated dealer network. The brand sold 688,390 vehicles in 2016. From 2023 it shifted entirely to electrification, with models such as the Yep, Yunduo and Yunhai.
