Honda produced the Varadero, the XL1000V, a dual sport motorcycle, with different models in production from 1998 to 2013. Fuel injection was introduced in 2003, offering a smoother motor and throttle operation, as well as ABS. It has capabilities for long road trips and limited off-road use, and a smaller 125 cc version, the XL125V Varadero, was also produced. The Varadero is the big brother of the Transalp, and since 2015 a newer design, the Africa Twin 1000, has been produced. Its engine is a 996 cc liquid-cooled V-twin based on the architecture of the Honda VTR1000F Firestorm. This site lists a page for every model year in the span covered here, each focused on what changed in that year, grouped into 2 generations: the XL1000VA (1999 to 2002 model years); the fuel-injected models (2003 to 2013 model years). Each year page links to its generation, to this model page, to the previous model year and to Honda.
