Honda XL250 (1982 to 1988)

Motorcycles and Powered Two- and Three-Wheelers

The second span of the XL250 began in 1982, when the balancing shaft of the engine was driven by gears instead of a chain, which made the engine quieter, and it gained a six speed gearbox and an automatic cam chain tensioner. Honda went back to the 21 inch front wheel and brought in the Pro-Link rear suspension with a single shock and a 12 volt electrical system. The XL250R and XL600R ended for the USA in 1987, and the short lived NX250 replaced the XL series from 1988 to 1990. Each model year has its own page.
