1982 Honda XL250

Motorcycles and Powered Two- and Three-Wheelers

The balancing shaft of the XL250 engine was gear driven rather than chain driven in 1982, which made the engine quieter, and it got a six speed gearbox and an automatic cam chain tensioner as well. Honda went back to the 21 inch front wheel and brought in the Pro-Link rear suspension with a single shock and a 12 volt electrical system. This page belongs to the Honda XL250 (1982 to 1988), 1982 to 1988 model years; the generation page and the Honda XL250 model page link to the other model years, so the changes of neighbouring years can be read in order.
