2002 Honda VFR800

Motorcycles and Powered Two- and Three-Wheelers

Honda introduced the sixth-generation VFR800 in 2002 with exhausts under the seat in a dual arrangement, optional ABS with DCBS linked brakes and optional hard luggage. It used chain-driven cams in place of the gear-driven cams of earlier VFRs and introduced VTEC valve actuation, a simplified motorcycle version of VTEC that uses only two of the four valves per cylinder at lower engine speeds, with all four engaged above approximately 6,800 rpm.
