Honda introduced the sixth-generation VFR in 2002 with dual exhausts under the seat, optional ABS, DCBS linked brakes and optional hard luggage. Chain driven cams replaced the cams driven by gears in earlier VFRs, and it had VTEC valve actuation, which made the VFR800 the first motorcycle outside the JDM to use VTEC valve gear. The VFR800 was phased out after the 2009 model year in the United States, when Honda introduced the larger VFR1200F. Each model year has its own page.
