The first-generation Magnas of 1982 to 1986 introduced a V4 engine to a cruiser market dominated by V-twins. The 1982 V45 Magna had a 748 cc liquid cooled V-4 with a 90 degree angle, DOHC and 16 valves, a six speed transmission, hydraulic clutch and shaft drive, and in 1984 the US tariff on engines over 700 cc led Honda to cut the VF750s to 698 cc as the VF700C, while the V65 of 1,098 cc and the V30 of 498 cc joined the line. Each model year has its own page.
