The first-generation Deauville of 1998 to 2001 had an engine capacity of 650 cc. The NT650V Deauville debuted in 1998 with a three-quarter fairing that was fully integrated, and panniers, to set it apart from the NTV650 it was based on, with the engine retuned for stronger torque low and in the midrange and the fuel tank enlarged to 19 litres to suit its touring role. The motorcycle got minor additions in 1999 and then stayed unchanged until its redesign in 2002. Each model year has its own page.
