Railway Engineers and Locomotive Designers

Civil and mechanical engineers who designed the first railways, locomotives and rail systems of Britain, Sweden and Japan. An entry belongs here when the cited article calls the person an engineer, railway engineer or chief mechanical engineer. It excludes inventors and industrialists who built railway businesses. Entries are placed by what their own cited article says, so each one sits in the narrowest group its source supports, and the group page lists it beside the other members.
