The Cosworth GPV8 is a naturally aspirated V8 engine built by Cosworth in 3.5 litre and 3.8 litre forms, originally designed and developed for the Lotus T125 open-wheel sports car. The 3.5 litre version produces 640 horsepower at 9,800 rpm and 332 pound-feet of torque at 7,600 rpm, with a rev limit of 10,300 rpm that a push-to-pass button can raise temporarily to 10,800 rpm. The enlarged 3.8 litre version is more powerful, making 675 horsepower at 9,600 rpm and 361 pound-feet of torque at 7,600 rpm, with a redline of 10,000 rpm. Unlike the engines of formula cars, it was manufactured for durability, longevity and reliability, and the source reports that it can withstand more than 5,000 kilometres on premium 98-octane pump gas.
