The Cosworth FBA and FBC are road going V6 engines found in the Ford Granada and the Ford Scorpio, twin overhead camshaft, 24 valve conversions of the Ford Cologne V6 used in the Sierra and the Capri. The FBA came first, in 1991, was also known as the BOA, and produced 195 metric horsepower with better idle quality. For the new Scorpio of 1995 the engine was upgraded to 204 PS with a wider torque spread, from a variable intake system and reprofiled cams, and the drive was changed from one chain for all four camshafts to one chain for each bank; this engine was known as the BOB. A racing version, the FBE, had an individual throttle butterfly for each cylinder, and the FBB and FBD existed only as development engines that were never released. Both production engines were mated to an automatic gearbox, and they have since become popular in the custom car scene, where turbocharged conversions usually reach around 400 bhp.
