The Wolseley Hornet ended in 1969, after eight years since its release in 1961 as a more luxurious version of the Mini. It had gone through three engine versions, the 848 cc engine, then the 998 cc unit of the Mark II, and had been built in three marks with bodies by Fisher and Ludlow. The Hornet and Riley Elf were both discontinued, the Mini taking the name of its own marque from 1969. The Hornet was a Mini variant of Wolseley.
