Vauxhall 14

Automobiles

The Vauxhall 14 was an automobile produced by Vauxhall in the United Kingdom from 1922 to 1927, with knock-down kits also assembled in Australia. The Model M was first shown at the 1921 London Motor Show and reached the public in 1922. Designed by Clarence King, it had a four-cylinder 2297 cc side-valve engine mounted in unit with a three-speed transmission, a separate chassis with semi-elliptic front springs and cantilever rear springs, disc wheels and rear-wheel brakes only. It could reach nearly 60 mph and return 28 mpg. About 1800 were built, and the 1924 Model LM added a higher compression engine of 40 bhp, a four-speed gearbox and wire wheels, with about 3500 built.
