The Opel 8/9 PS was a lower mid-range car that Adam Opel KG built from 1903 to 1907. Its single-cylinder engine displaced 1,470 cc and produced 9 PS (6.6 kW) at 1200 rpm. Power reached the rear axle through a clutch, a gearbox and a propeller shaft. The chassis frame was built from sheet-steel U-sections, with both rigid axles hung on semi-elliptical leaf springs. It was offered as a phaeton, a tonneau or a coupe. It followed the Opel 9 PS and was followed by the Opel 6/12 PS. Production ended in 1907.
