Opel 8/22 PS

Automobiles

The Opel 8/22 PS was an upper mid-range car that Adam Opel KG built from 1913 to 1916. Its four-cylinder block side-valve engine displaced 2,209 cc and produced 24 PS (17.6 kW) at 1600 rpm. Power reached the rear axle through a clutch, a gearbox and a propeller shaft. Its top speed was 65 km/h. The chassis frame was built from sheet-steel U-sections, with both rigid axles hung on semi-elliptical leaf springs. It was offered as a phaeton, a touring car, a limousine or a landaulet. It followed the Opel 8/20 PS and was followed by the Opel 9/25 PS. Production ended in 1916.
