The Opel 45/50 PS was a upper-class car that Adam Opel KG built only in 1906. It was somewhat shorter than the 35/40 PS of a year earlier but had a larger and stronger engine, and it was the most powerful Opel of its time. Its four-cylinder side-valve T-head engine cast as two blocks displaced 8,016 cc and produced 50 PS (37 kW) at 1,500 rpm. Power passed through a metal cone clutch, a manual 4-speed gearbox and a propeller shaft to the rear axle. It was offered as a two-seat phaeton, a four-seat double phaeton or a four-door saloon. The phaeton, the cheapest body, cost 20,000 reichsmarks. It was built until the end of 1906 and then replaced by the larger 32/50 PS.
