The Opel 4,2 Liter, also called the Opel 16/60 PS, was a luxury-class passenger car that Adam Opel AG built only in 1929 as the successor to the 15/60 PS. It was presented in early 1929 beside the 3,7 Liter. Its side-valve inline six-cylinder engine was enlarged to 4181 cubic centimetres and kept the output of 60 PS at 2800 revolutions per minute. Power went through a multi-plate clutch, a three-speed manual gearbox, a propeller shaft and a differential to the rear wheels. The car had a steel channel ladder frame, two rigid axles on leaf springs with shock absorbers, and drum brakes on all four wheels. Besides the tourer, Pullman saloon and estate it was also offered as a four-seat cabriolet and a two-seat roadster. Only 39 cars were built before production stopped at the end of 1929, and the Admiral of 1937 followed it.
