The Opel 16/18 PS was a luxury-class passenger car that Adam Opel KG built from 1904 to 1906 as the middle model of its luxury range. It appeared in the same year as the smaller 14 PS and the larger 30/32 PS, and all of these cars were still built under Darracq licences. Its water-cooled side-valve four-cylinder block engine displaced 3054 cubic centimetres and gave 18 PS at 1200 revolutions per minute. Power went through a leather cone clutch, a three-speed manual gearbox with steering-wheel shift and a propeller shaft to the rear axle, and the car reached about 60 kilometres per hour. The frame was profiled steel reinforced with wood. It was sold as a two-seat phaeton, a four-seat tonneau and a four-seat double phaeton, and in 1905 the larger 14/20 PS replaced it, although it stayed in production until 1906.
