Opel 13/30 PS

Automobiles

The Opel 13/30 PS was a upper-class car that Adam Opel KG built only in 1912 as the successor of the 14/20 PS and the 16/18 PS. It was a very large car built with the greatest comfort then available in the luxury class, and a Pullman saloon stood about 2.5 metres high. After one year it was developed into the 14/30, 14/34, 14/38 and 14/48 PS, which were built for eleven more years. Its four-cylinder side-valve inline engine displaced 3,308 cc and produced 30 PS (22 kW) at 1,550 rpm. Power passed through a leather cone clutch, a manual 4-speed gearbox and a propeller shaft to the rear axle, and the car reached a top speed of 70 km/h. It was offered as a two-seat phaeton, a four-seat touring car, a four-door Pullman saloon, a landaulet or a two-door coupe.
