Opel 12/34 PS

Automobiles

The Opel 12/34 PS was a upper-class car that Adam Opel KG built from 1916 to 1919 as the successor of the 10/28 PS. Only the rear wheels had band brakes. Its four-cylinder side-valve block engine displaced 3,137 cc and produced 37 PS (27.2 kW) at 1,550 rpm. Power passed through a leather cone clutch, a manual 4-speed gearbox and a propeller shaft to the rear axle, and the car reached a top speed of 78 km/h. It was offered as a two-seat phaeton, a four-seat double phaeton, a six-seat touring car, a four-door Pullman saloon or a landaulet. It was built until 1919, and the 14/48 PS, a further development of the 14/30 PS, followed it.
