Opel 10/24 PS

Automobiles

The Opel 10/24 PS was a upper-class car that Adam Opel KG built only in 1911 as the successor of the 10/20 PS. In 1912 the engine geometry was changed and the car became the 10/25 PS, and a further power increase in 1913 produced the 10/28 PS, which was built until 1916. Its four-cylinder side-valve block engine with an 80 mm bore and 130 mm stroke displaced 2,614 cc and produced 24 PS (17.6 kW) at 1,550 rpm. Power passed through a leather cone clutch, a manual 4-speed gearbox and a propeller shaft to the rear axle, and the car reached a top speed of 65 km/h. It was offered as a four-seat double phaeton, a six-seat touring car, a four-door saloon or a landaulet. The double phaeton, the cheapest body, cost 8,500 reichsmarks. In 1916 the larger 12/34 PS replaced the 10/28 PS that grew out of this model.
