The Toyota MiniAce was a small utility vehicle that Toyota built from November 1967 until November 1975. It shared many parts with the Toyota Publica, especially the Publica P20 pickup, and in Japan it was sold through the Toyota Corolla Store and Toyota Auto Store networks. It entered the market in November 1967 as a truck or a panel van, and real success followed once the MiniAce Van and the MiniAce Coach, a seven-seater minibus, were added in August 1968. After December 1969 manufacture was moved from Toyota's Takaoka plant and shared between Hino, Daihatsu and Fuji Auto Body. Because the air-cooled U engine would have had trouble passing the stricter 1976 emissions standards, production was halted in November 1975, and in December 2011 Toyota returned to the segment with the Pixis Van and Truck, which are rebadged Daihatsu Hijets.
