The Vivaro A was the first generation of the Opel Vivaro, a light commercial van launched in September 2001 as a rebadged version of the second generation Renault Trafic, which resulted from a joint venture between Opel, Nissan and Renault. It was sold as an Opel in most European markets and as a Vauxhall in the United Kingdom. The Vivaro was primarily manufactured at GM Manufacturing Luton, previously IBC, in Luton, England, and by Nissan at their Zona Franca facility in Barcelona, Spain. It was available as a panel van, minibus, combined bus and van, and platform crew cab, with two wheelbase styles, two roof heights, three diesel engine power options and a petrol engine. A mild facelift in 2006 moved the front indicators from the bumper into the headlight housing, and a plug-in hybrid Vivaro e Concept was shown in September 2010 at the IAA Commercial Vehicle Show in Hanover.
