The Combo B was launched in October 1993 and was based heavily on the Opel Corsa B, launched six months earlier. The front part up to the B-pillar is practically identical to the Corsa, but the platform and body were extended to make a tall, boxy cargo compartment able to carry a Euro-pallet, with symmetrical twin rear doors that opened to the side. In the summer of 1995 Opel launched a five passenger version called the Opel Combo Tour, which differed from the panel van by having side windows in the cargo section and a three-passenger split folding bench seat. All Combos were built at the Azambuja plant in Portugal and were gradually replaced by the Combo C in 2001. Holden in Australia sold it as the SB series Combo from February 1996.
