In 1962 the TR4 won the E production national championship, after which the SCCA reclassified the car to D production, which class Tullius won in 1963 and 1964. The TR4 was in its second year of production, a sports car of the Triumph Motor Company, with the Michelotti body and the TR3 chassis and drivetrain, while the final TR3B was sold concurrently with it in 1962.
