The Herald Saloon lasted until December 1970, though the 1200 saloon was sold alongside the 13/60 until the end of 1970, and the Convertible and Estate lasted until May 1971. In 1970 the Herald was severely outdated in style if not performance, and had already outlived the introduction of the Triumph 1300 saloon. The 1200 had been in production since April 1961. The Herald was outlived by the Triumph 1300.
