1966 Triumph GT6

Automobiles

The new car was introduced in 1966 and called the Triumph GT6, built by Standard-Triumph on the basis of the Spitfire convertible. In early 1963 Giovanni Michelotti had been commissioned to design a GT version of the recently introduced Spitfire 4, and an unmodified Spitfire 4 was delivered to his design studios in Italy and returned late in 1963 as the prototype Spitfire GT for evaluation in England.
