The first models in the Gloria range were a 9.53 horsepower four cylinder car of 1087 cubic centimeters and a 12.95 horsepower six cylinder model of 1467 cubic centimeters, introduced in August 1933. The cars were Triumph's sporting saloons, built at Coventry with Coventry Climax designed overhead inlet and side exhaust valve engines, modified and made under licence by Triumph. The chassis used hydraulic Lockheed brakes and semi elliptic leaf springs.
