The 1500TC was replaced by the Dolomite 1500 and 1500HL in March 1976, and production ended in 1976, by which time the Triumph 1500 had been replaced by the Triumph Dolomite. The 1500TC could reach a top speed of 92 mph and accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 14.0 seconds. After its direct successor was switched to rear wheel drive in 1973, Triumph never designed another front wheel drive car. The Dolomite then took over the range.
