The fourth generation Tacoma was revealed on 19 May 2023 as the 2024 model. It is built on Toyota's TNGA-F global body on frame platform, shared with the larger Tundra, with a choice of engines that includes the hybrid i-Force Max, which differs from the Hybrid Max powertrain of the Crown and Grand Highlander although it uses the same T24A-FTS engine. Toyota showed a custom X-Runner concept based on the 2024 Tacoma at the 2023 SEMA show, painted in Speedway Blue like the original.
