In March 1993 the automatic only five door 1.3 XL was added into the Japanese lineup of the fourth generation. In the United Kingdom the 1.0 GL three door, which had been offered only as a three door hatchback, was replaced by the 1.3 GLi three door from 1993 onwards. It was model year 4 of 6 in the Toyota Starlet (fourth generation, P80), 1989 to 1995, coming after the 1992 model year and before the 1994 model year.
