Toyota gave the 1998 RAV4 a mild restyle of its front and rear ends and added a soft top three door. The headlamps changed to a single filament type with two beams per housing, and the interior gained different seat colors, a new steering wheel and a digital odometer. It was model year 5 of 6 in the Toyota RAV4 (first generation, XA10), 1994 to 1999, coming after the 1997 model year and before the 1999 model year.
