Many of the commercial iterations of the Publica were built by Hino Motors at their Hamura plant, beginning in 1970. In October 1970 the range saw minor changes including a new instrument panel and a new High Deluxe version with front disc brakes. It was model year 2 of 7 in the Toyota Publica (third series, P30 and P50), 1969 to 1978, coming after the 1969 model year and before the 1971 model year.
