Toyota USA released a 2020 Edition of the Prius for the 2021 model year, based on the XLE with black wheels and badges. The mid generation update restored five seats to the 2020 Prius Prime, and in New Zealand the regular hybrid was dropped that year, leaving only the plug-in. It was model year 6 of 8 in the Toyota Prius (fourth generation, XW50), 2015 to 2022, coming after the 2019 model year and before the 2021 model year.
